About the Team

Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we’re in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space.

What you’ll do

As an Operations Manager for Rider Supply at Careem Grocery, you'll play a critical role responsible for rider acquisition, performance, partnerships; and managing the day-to-day operations in the most effective manner. This is a unique opportunity to make a genuine impact, reporting directly to the Regional Head of Operations.

We’re looking for someone with an amazing understanding of rider operations & network management to support our grocery dark store offering and manage for consistent delivery. Our ideal candidate is someone with a strong sense of the industry, with experience handling key day-to-day activities that will assist the team in the growth, performance, and quality of riders. We look for passionate and highly driven incumbents to do whatever it requires and support in achieving ambitious targets across performance, acquisition and partner ops.

  1. Oversee rider acquisition, performance, and partnership operations.
  2. Engage and develop the rider network to promote retention and performance.
  3. Enforce operational guidelines and SOPs, addressing process, system, and reporting gaps.
  4. Manage operational escalations, providing creative solutions and conducting root cause analyses.
  5. Propose and test innovative ideas for rider ops improvements.
  6. Understand and track core KPIs related to experience, acquisition, and performance.
  7. Encourage process improvements, resolving team escalations in a timely manner.
  8. Monitor and analyze relevant metrics, providing strategic solutions based on data insights.
  9. Lead budget-conscious initiatives, running financially impactful experiments.
  10. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team, ensuring knowledge sharing and professional growth.

What you'll need

  1. 4-6 years of experience in a similar domain (rider operations, last-mile ).
  2. Proven managerial experience.
  3. Strong people management and collaboration skills.
  4. Familiarity with SQL and data analysis, extraction, reporting, and presentation.
  5. Proven operational excellence in execution and process formulation.

Where You'll Be

This role is based in Riyadh, and requires in-person work. You'll primarily be situated in our office location, with occasional visits to various dark stores across Riyadh. Our offices provide collaboration-friendly spaces to enhance teamwork and social connections. You must be based out of the country you're hired from as your primary work location due to legal and compensation considerations.
