About the team

This role is a unique opportunity to play a significant part in shaping the financial decisions at Careem.

What you'll do

  • Overall responsible for the correct recording and reporting provisions, oversee the procure to pay process
  • Oversee the indirect cost elements their recording for different markets
  • Overall responsible for the maintenance of advances, prepayments, and other significant cost buckets.
  • Assisting & coordinating with external auditors for group audit
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Excel
  • Hands on experience with Oracle
  • Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
  • Assisting and supporting team in other areas of accounting and reporting.
  • AR management
  • ECL model - ifrs 9
  • Hala recon
  • Stakeholder management both internal (business finance, accounting, treasury, FRM, tax, sales) and external (auditors, Uber, e&, customers, hala teams)
  • Automation of accounting processes

What you'll need

  • Bachelor/masters Degree or an ACCA affiliate/finalist.
  • 1 - 3yrs of experince in general accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Excel (advanced level - power query, power pivot etc)
  • Hands on experience with Oracle
  • Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Tech enthusiastic skills - power bi, python/sql (basic to intermediate)
