About the team
The team is a central part of the Finance Shared Services Department which serves all entities throughout the Careem network. Our aim is to establish a centralized accounting function that serves entities across the group. The team consists of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience. The position will be reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager - FCR.
What you'll do
- Overall responsible for the correct recording and reporting of upstream data of P&L.
- Oversee the direct cost elements that will offset the revenue in wide scope & ensure timely data Verification every month.
- Overall responsible for the direct cost and contra revenue, its reporting results smooth proofing of direct cost with Business finance.
- Overall responsible for the tax queries specifically for revenue & direct costs.
- Assisting & coordinating with external auditors for group audits.
- Variance analysis of upstream data on a monthly & quarterly basis and their reporting as part of internal control
- Strong coordination with the data warehouse team for multiple queries & new business
What you'll need
- CA Qualified (up to 1 year experience)
- CA (Finalist)
- ACCA, ICMA or related field
- Minimum 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in accounting principles, and practices, including general ledger, accounts payable/ receivable, financial reporting, and audits.
- Experience with Audit firms would be preferred.
- Experience with ride-hailing and related businesses, FMCG, or retail business would be preferred.
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP R13 functionality, including modules relevant to accounting (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting Close) would be preferred
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, MS Access, Power Query) would be preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, interpret data, and solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication, written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
