Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East — making it easy to move around, order food and groceries, manage payments, and more. Our purpose is simple: to simplify and improve people’s lives and build an awesome organisation that inspires.
Since 2012, Careem has enabled earnings for over 2.5 million Captains, simplified the lives of more than 70 million customers, and built a platform where the region’s best talent and entrepreneurs thrive. We operate in 70+ cities across 10 countries, from Morocco to Pakistan.

We’re now entering our next chapter — one powered by AI. We’re looking for AI talent: curious problem-solvers who know how to apply AI to build tools, automate workflows, and create real impact. Whether it’s streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, or reimagining internal systems — we want people who can make Careem work smarter and move faster.

What you’ll do

Storefront Ownership

  • Own and manage the in-app storefront — home page, category landing pages, carousels, and other key real estate.
  • Partner with Product and Tech teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver on-site enhancements that support category and merchandising needs.

Campaign Planning & Execution

  • Oversee execution of the merchandising calendar, ensuring timely updates and flawless execution of promotional plans.
  • Partner with Marketing, Category Management, and Supply Chain teams to coordinate and launch impactful campaigns.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders to execute merchandising initiatives.
  • Leverage AI tools to optimize campaign execution and content production (e.g. copy generation, creative variations, wireframe-to-build automation).

Performance Management

  • Analyze user behavior and sales performance to curate and optimize the app's look and feel, driving continuous improvement in conversion and engagement through data insights.
  • Track and report on campaign performance metrics using insights to optimize future campaign planning and execution.
  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies that align with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Develop and execute merchandising plans that balance customer-centric design with commercial goals.

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience in merchandising, e-commerce, or a related role, with 4-5 years of overall experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to drive efficiency in merchandising and campaign planning and execution.
  • Collaborative mindset with exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Creative thinker with a customer-first approach and a passion for enhancing the digital shopping experience.
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and platforms, such as analytics dashboards and merchandising softwares.
