What will you do:

• Compliance Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive regulatory compliance strategy, tailored to product safety and food safety requirements within the eCommerce industry.
• Legal requirements: Establish and maintain legal register/tracking to identify applicable laws and licensing requirements. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure that products listed on our platform meet all safety regulations and standards.
• Policy Development: Establish and update policies, guidelines, and procedures related to product safety and food safety compliance. Ensure that sellers, suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders are aware of and adhere to these policies.
• Compliance Mapping: Conduct discussions and clearly map all business and operation teams responsible for compliance related to product safety and food safety (first line / second line / third line owners of compliance)
• Product Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure that all products listed on the platform meet relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Establish and execute policies, controls and procedures for Catalog Operation, Product Onboarding, Andon operations and Recall operations;
  • Establish processes for product testing, certification, and safety documentation verification.
• Food Safety Compliance:
  • Implement food safety compliance programs for food products listed on the platform.
  • Collaborate with sellers and suppliers to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Establish and execute policies, controls and procedures for Storage requirements, Andon operations and Recall operations.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks related to product safety and food safety. Maintain inventory of all applicable risks and develop and execute risk mitigation strategies.
• Audit: Develop and implement an audit strategy, plan and checklists to conduct regular audits across various departments and facilities to identify non-compliances to defined policies and procedures as well as legal requirements for food safety and products safety. Ensure continuous tracking of issues and remediations.
• Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of compliance specialists, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of compliance excellence.
• Training and Education: Develop training programs to educate sellers, suppliers, and internal teams about product safety and food safety regulations, best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Legal, Operations, and Customer Support teams.
• External Engagement: Represent the company in regulatory and industry forums related to product safety and food safety compliance. Build strong relationships with regulatory authorities and relevant stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 12+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, with a focus on product safety and food safety, within eCommerce or related industries.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful product safety and food safety compliance programs.
• Deep understanding of product safety and food safety regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to the eCommerce industry.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset and the ability to identify compliance risks and propose practical solutions.
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving eCommerce environment.
