What you will do

• Operate and support Coupang’s database systems on AWS Aurora and in-house MySQL solution.
• Design and maintain general ecosystem around transactional databases including backup & restore, schema management, monitoring, etc.
• Design and automate database operations.
• Troubleshoot database issues and be able to effectively communicate the root cause.
• Participate in incident handling, serve on-call rotation.

Your Expertise

• 8+ years of general industry experience with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure fundamentals.
• Experience with end-to-end system development from planning, design to implementation and rollout.
• Experience with writing automation scripts.
• Experience in scripting languages like Python, Shell.
• Experience in other major programing languages such as Java, C#, Go, C++ or Rust.
• Understanding of SRE and DevOps.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS Aurora and/or community MySQL.
• Experience with other databases including any NoSQL and NewSQL databases.
• Experience with any tools for Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.The base pay for this position ranges from $148,680/year in our lowest geographic market to $276,120/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
