Role Overview

We are currently looking to hire a senior e-commerce executive to lead the Existing Seller Management in our China Global Selling business. As a buildup, we prefer to operate according to a set of leadership principles rather than job descriptions so that we can empower individuals and allow them to push past boundaries. You will be responsible for designing, building, and driving extraordinary growth of the Existing Seller Management sector of the China Global Selling Business. This includes business strategy, overseeing budgets, structuring and identifying resource needs, and leading diverse business teams.

You will collaborate and thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate, and foster innovative thinking. Use and learn the latest tools and technology to analyze data and insights at scale, and above all else think every day about how to best meet the needs of our customers.

You will be empowered with the necessary resources to create the most scalable and efficient operation that is capable of wow’ing our customers by driving wide assortment of selection, developing a large capable 3rd party seller base, and executing the fastest delivery available in the market.

You must be a self-starter with strong demonstrated experience in operating at scale sales organizations to achieve ambitious targets. This will allow you and your teams to have a large positive impact on how our customers shop.

This role will require you on daily basis to embody a strong business acumen combined with an operational excellence mindset.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The leader of the Existing Seller Management in China Global Selling business is responsible for providing a strategic vision for the existing seller growth and cultivating relationships with key partners, both internal and external.
  • You will own the end-2-end design of the Existing Seller strategy and execution with your teams to grow thousands of Chinese sellers onto Coupang. These sellers will bring millions of authentic selections that is well priced and consistently available to buy by customers.
  • As a strong leader, the ideal candidate will have good business judgment and analytical horsepower to break down complex problems, develop strategic plans to address, identify resources required to drive, and execute per those plans.
  • You will set the parameters and provide guidance on all key aspects of the existing seller growth including but not limited to customer experience, seller experience, organization structure, AM, merchandising, and technology roadmap. This includes driving systematic improvements as well as championing new opportunities to grow the business and delight customers.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a range of skill set such as leadership development, analytical skills, excellent business judgment, strong negotiations skills, deep curiosity about how things work, and passion for creating world class shopping experience for our customers.
  • The ideal candidate will be strong at hiring & developing people. She/he will be required to build and foster future leaders as well as raise the bar for existing team members.
  • You will drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and foster an environment of “thinking big,” while balancing the need to coordinate teams’ activities, undaunted by challenges of fast-changing business environment.
  • The successful candidate will think outside of the box to solve complex problems and use trends and competitive analysis to define and implement long term business strategies.

Qualifications

  • Experience 15+ Years running sales/AM organizations.
  • Proven manager with a successful, resourceful and hands-on track record of running complex businesses end-to-end combined with strong P&L experience
  • Strong 3rd party seller management ecommerce background with proven ability to drive growth and scale.
  • Demonstrable ability to build lasting relationships and conduct negotiations with large, medium, and small brands/sellers to obtain commitment, preferable terms, and achieve win-win solutions
  • Able to balance strategy with strong execution skills - able to understand, deconstruct, streamline and optimize complex, large-scale business processes
  • Experience building high performing diverse teams that achieve extraordinary results
  • Superb analytical skills and ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
  • You will be agile, able to quickly adapt strategies and plans to come up with innovative solutions in response to dynamic business requirements.
  • Decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas
  • You will be comfortable driving change across different functional teams from sales to operations to product development, as well as communicating and influencing across all levels of the organization.
  • A passionate self-starter, ready to take Coupang to the next level
  • Fluent in Mandarin; good command of business English preferred
