Position: Director, Manpower Planning & Process Innovation

Director, Planning & Process Innovation in Coupang is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and management of Coupang’s workforce to ensure that it has the right talent in the right positions at the right time. We are seeking an experienced Workforce Planning Leader to create and deliver a comprehensive and innovative workforce planning and execution solution. You will own the end-to-end people processes required for Coupang Fulfillment Centers to have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time to provide a great customer experience at an optimal cost. This role focuses on three areas (Capacity Planning, Workforce Management, and Program Management) to drive the business operational cadence using strategic planning sessions and business reviews with cross-functional teams. You must also be able to build strong cross-group working relationships and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills as part of guiding consensus across the topics associated with headcount management and guiding the organization through adoption and change management.

What you will do?

  • Manpower planning charter for BAU & Peak days for Coupang Fulfillment centers. Estimate the hiring risk for Future growth of Coupang Fresh & Core businesses. Would work closely with Business/Ops/HR/ Finance partners/ leaders to ensure daily manpower hiring goals is met and capacity is available to meet the demand.

  • Work with marketing/ HR team to come up effective hiring channels / promotion programs.

  • Work with Internal stakeholders like Process/ Control tower/ S&OP teams to plan and mitigate manpower related capacity risk.

  • Drive Weekly Business review meeting related to manpower planning.

  • Work with Senior leadership team to come up with Future manpower planning strategies in line with growth targets.

  • Build Competitive insights to help HR plan a local hiring strategy.

  • Own the manpower incentive plan and take daily calls on providing Incentive to fill the manpower gap. Track the budget expenditure and ROI monitoring.

  • Come up with a strategy to increase weekly / monthly employee churn out rate.

  • Employment data analysis and management & come up with a business insight to drive actions.

  • Build long term manpower planning capability by working with product team and other stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • 8 to 12 years of work experience mainly in Process and Planning domain. E commerce/ Start up experience would be an added advantage.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.

  • 1-2 years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) is preferred.

  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships across diverse teams and functions.
