Team Description
Tech Finance works in close partnership with Engineering, Product & Procurement teams at Coupang. Wthin Tech Finance, Cloud FinOps is an operational finance team working within on-prem & cloud infrastructure. Our goals and functions include:
- Supporting engineering decision making through scenario & outcome analysis. This includes building project models that appraise cost, ROI & risk assessment
- Working with engineering on infrastructure efficiency, either by identifying & tracking efficiency targets
- Work commercially with Procurement to re-negotiate CSP (Cloud Service Provider) contracts, that balances usage commitments to price performance
- Own key discounting mechanisms such as Reserved Instance Portfolio & Enterprise Discount Agreement (private contracting)
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing cloud capacity request from engineering and providing cloud cost optimization recommendations where applicable
- Support company reserved instance strategy, routinely monitoring RI coverage and supporting RI purchase origination process as it relates to idle RI prevention & RI savings yield optimization
- Partner with platform team to drive overall company resource CPU and Memory utilization improvement
- Leveraging Coupang AWS cost data to do benchmarking analysis—identifying outlier services that require provision revisiting
- Build data driven insights that help shape and champion company wide cloud governance policy
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis in a fast-paced technology-oriented organization
- Experience leading and developing financial models, creating new financial processes, models and tools
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with non-financial leaders in technology. Ability to articulate complex cloud & financial topics clearly
- Strong MS-Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and experience with SAP
- Business level English
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience with at least 1 public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) with working knowledge of cloud technology & cloud cost drivers
- Experience with SQL queries, Tableau & organizing large datasets

Document Return Policy
- This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
- A job applicant, who has applied but not been finally selected for a position at Coupang (the “Company”), may request the Company to return his/her hiring documents submitted pursuant to the Fair Hiring Procedure Act. In addition, if the hiring documents were destroyed due to a natural disaster or any other reasons not attributable to the Company, such documents will be deemed to have been returned to the job applicant.
- A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a “Request for Return of Hiring Documents” [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit the request to the Company (Coupang Recruiting Team, Tower 730, 570 Songpa-daero, Songpa-gu, Seoul). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. - In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all of his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
