Position : Principal, Compliance (Real Estate)

Team Description:

Real Estate team is responsible for independent assurance on operation of construction activities by relevant functions. The team will support team leader to maintain sound risk management over real estate and construction safety compliance, including (i) onsite audit, (ii) compliance performance monitoring, (iii) KPI tracking, (iv) risk assessment over escalated construction safety issues, and (v) remediation of the identified risks with stakeholders.

What are the 4 things you need this person to do?

1. To conduct regular and ad-hoc review activities related to construction safety compliance. These reviews would be conducted on-site. Regularly review the construction safety KPIs, analyze the potential risks, and engage in their remediation.
2. To build a monitoring system for overall construction safety compliance and communicate with relevant stakeholders to remediate the identified problems. Spearhead the team’s effort to develop a method to collect, retain, and assess applicable laws, regulations, and pertinent standards, conduct research, assess impact, and communicate results, legislative or regulatory updates to internal stakeholders about these applicable laws and regulations.
3. Ability to conduct on-site audits, identify potential risks according to site characteristics, and make stakeholders understand through reports.
4. Ability to raise Coupang’s safety level through efficient processes with creativity and planning skills.

Essential Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher.
2. Approximately 7 years or more of construction safety work experience.
3. A person who is interested in on-site audits and finds work rewarding.
4. Ability to provide the best practice to remediate the risks on construction safety compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Holder of national certification related to construction safety.
2. A person who can perform industrial safety and fire safety inspections.
3. Key Competencies: Influence without authority, deals well with ambiguity, able to clearly define problems and ideal solutions in loosely structured situations, not afraid to contradict others and proactively offering solutions.
4. Fluent in English.
