Role Overview

We are seeking world class Procurement and Sourcing professionals to join our Global Procurement leadership team. This individual will oversee personnel activities and serve as the functional owner in delivering operational and strategic sourcing services to the enterprise for your assigned category spend portfolio. Your primary objective is reducing OpEx and CapEx annually against our 3rd party spend as well as maintaining strong relationships with our key suppliers.

In this role, you will be responsible for one of more indirect or direct categories below:

  • Indirect Materials & Services (Professional Services, Finance, Legal, Marketing, HR/Benefits/Contingent Labor, Outsourced Services)
  • Technology Sourcing (HW, SW, Networking, Webhosting)
  • Direct Supplies & Fulfillment (Packaging Material, Logistics, Supplies, Consumables, Industrial Equipment, MRO)
  • Automation Equipment (Material Equipment Handling – Sorters, Conveyors, Automated Guided Vehicles, Goods-to-person, Shelf Racks, Mezzanine)

This role is suitable for a hands-on self-starter who can personally deliver as well as coach and guide others in delivery. It requires strong industry experience and subject matter expertise in the above category areas. Expertise should include knowledge of industry trends, prominent suppliers, industry procurement strategies and levers, etc.

You will be reporting into the Head of Global Procurement and work closely with a local and global team in building a world class organization.

What You Will Do

  • Develop Category Management vision, strategies, and objectives to deliver against broader business objectives for your managed categories - including market research/benchmarks, milestones, savings targets, supply continuity, resource requirements, and implementation plans
  • Manage successful execution of portfolio of initiatives and lead operations related to sourcing and procurement activities for managed categories. Personally lead high complex/high impact engagements
  • Identify and execute strategic initiatives to drive maximum cost savings and value creation for the organization
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a cohesive, high-performing sourcing team acting as trusted advisor to key business stakeholders.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders; build a strong understanding of strategic business / operations direction
  • Perform leadership role in key procurement activities, including request for proposal (RFx) development and execution, Statement of Work (SOW) contract drafting, and pricing and contract negotiations
  • Conduct supplier performance management initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and report on procurement activity (health and metrics) and recommends changes in methods and procedures based on report outcome.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and establish sourcing project pipeline to achieve savings targets and business objectives
  • All other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree from an accredited College or University; MBA or Advanced Certifications preferred: Institute of Supply Management (CPSM), SPSM
  • 10+ years of previous Procurement/Sourcing and/or SCM /Engineering-related experience; with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge and experience with Procurement applications (e.g. eRFx, eAuction, P2P)
  • Actively set, lead and drive the team, timeline and prioritization for all assigned sourcing initiatives within managed categories
  • Excellent problem solving, team and time management skills managing multiple deadlines for self and others
  • Proficiency in evaluating the performance capabilities of subordinates as well as counsel subordinates in development and/or corrective discipline
  • Relationship building and collaboration with key executives and business partners; ability to influence without authority
  • Strong reputation as an outstanding negotiator; personally responsible for leading complex agreements with leading suppliers for favorable cost and supply arrangements
  • Deep understanding of cost drivers and cost models; analytical ability to connect this to favorable financial terms
  • Results-oriented leader known for employing fact-based analysis, world-class process expertise and well-honed negotiation skills to achieve breakthrough performance
  • Demonstrated ability to roll up one’s sleeves and lead by example whether digging into the data or leading a negotiation
  • Comfortable operating in a growth-oriented environment maintaining a high sense of urgency and performance management
  • Significant executive presence and ability to represent one’s organization effectively with executives internally and in the supply base
  • General Management demeanor that stretches beyond procurement across the business as a whole; strategic business-mind and ability to see the big picture
  • Known as a change agent in the procurement field, having led at least one significant procurement start-up or procurement transformation at an established company
  • Global experience and an understanding of the nuances and differences among business cultures; able and willing to travel extensively
