Job Description

Strategy & Policy Development

  • Develop and implement EHS strategies that align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and global best practices
  • Establish policies that ensure compliance with local, national, and international EHS standards, integrating safety into organizational culture and operational processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is a fundamental part of operational decision-making.

Goal Setting & Annual Improvement Planning:

  • Define and deploy ambitious yet achievable EHS performance goals and KPI's across Taiwan operations.
  • Lead the development and execution of an annual safety improvement plan and budget to drive continuous enhancement in workplace safety.
  • Analyze safety performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for proactive risk mitigation.

Organization Development & Leadership Engagement:

  • Provide strategic leadership on EHS matters, partnering with operational leaders to embed safety within all levels of the organization.
  • Develop a culture of accountability where safety is a shared responsibility across all departments.
  • Influence and educate senior leaders to drive engagement in safety initiatives and compliance efforts.
  • Deploy company-wide EHS standards and ensure their implementation in fulfillment centers while providing necessary training and guidance.

People Management & Development:

  • Build and develop a high-performing EHS team that is equipped to support the organization's rapid growth.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and career development opportunities for EHS professionals across Taiwan operations.
  • Champion employee involvement programs that empower frontline teams to take ownership of workplace safety while improving awareness.
  • Develop tools for capability building, such as EHS competence guidelines required for each function and capability assessments.

Knowledge & information Management:

  • Establish and maintain systems for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on EHS data and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and internal reporting frameworks.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on emerging EHS trends, regulatory changes, and industry innovations.

Project Management & Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead Key EHS projects, including automation safety technology implementation, and ergonomic enhancements.
  • Drive innovation by leveraging data analytics, AI, and smart safety solutions to enhance operational efficiency and risk reduction.
  • Act as a change agent, continuously identifying and executing improvements that advance the organization's safety culture.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, and team project experience is preferred to drive process improvements and operational excellence.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies, including risk assessments such as Task Risk Assessment (TRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and inspections to proactively address hazards and compliance gaps.
  • Ensure all workplace incidents are investigated, root causes identified, and corrective actions implemented.
  • Partner with legal and government relations teams to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of experience in EHS management for a major corporation.
  • A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute large-scale safety programs that drive measurable improvements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management and consensus-building skills.
  • Strong background in process safety management and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience in crisis management, emergency response, and business continuity planning.

Preferred:

  • Advanced certifications such as NEBOSH, CSP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in using data analytics and AI-driven tools to enhance EHS performance.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English; experience working in a multinational environment.
  • Certification in recognized EHS management systems such as ISO 45001 or ISO 14001.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or smart safety solutions in an operational environment.
  • Track record of successfully influencing regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
