Position: Senior Director, Head of Strategic Projects (Rocket Now)

Location: Tokyo, Japan

What you will do

As a Head of Strategic Project of Rocket Now(Coupang Eats Japan Business), you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and monitoring Eats business strategy, operation, and key metrics. You will be responsible for setting up the strategy for Eats business, continuously improving processes/metrics and brining innovations that can secure year over year growth and profitability. You will work closely with leadership team of Eats business while leading critical initiatives between product and business/operation teams to define and prioritize key objectives and business projects of Rocket Now.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement business/operational strategies that support the company’ growth and long-term objectives.
• Provide a strategic vision for the business and build/develop strategic relationships with internal/external key stakeholders based on thorough understanding of business.
• Drive innovation and operational excellence through understanding customer need.
• Analyze data and conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with other leaders across the company in developing strategies and processes, communicating and following-up on actionable findings and drive adoption through KPI management.
• Lead the development and execution of operational/strategic projects, including process improvement initiatives and new product launch etc.
• Lead and guide employees of Rocket Now in planning, designing, and executing end-to-end programs and processes across Rocket Now

Basic Qualifications

• Extensive experiences with demonstrated success in program & product management, business management and/or business operations.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and logical data-driven thinking
• Deep-dive and process-driven skillsets.
• Experience in working in start-up environment (multiple testing, quick decision making, fast scale up)
• Ability to collaborate and align strategy with leadership while driving execution efficiently.
• Experience working with large sets of structured and unstructured data and synthesizing into business insights.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and achieve effective results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital.
• Ability to balance strategy with strong operational skills – able to understand, deconstruct, streamline and optimize complex, large-scale business processes.
• Excellence communication/interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across teams.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver a result on time.
