Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished leader to join Coupang Taiwan as the Head of Onsite Merchandising. This individual will be responsible for building, leading, and mentoring a high-performance team of onsite merchandisers and designers. The role is pivotal in optimizing product discovery, improving the customer journey, and maximizing conversion across key customer-facing pages, including the homepage, category pages, and campaign experiences.
What You Will Do:
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a cross-functional team of onsite merchandisers, visual designers, and content strategists.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on creativity, execution excellence, and data-driven decision-making.
- Mentor and upskill team members through regular coaching, performance feedback, and development planning.
- Customer Experience & Performance KPIs
- Drive continuous improvements in customer journey by optimizing layout, navigation, content, and product placements.
- Own and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) such as homepage CTR, category page engagement, and conversion rates.
- Utilize A/B testing, customer behavior analytics, and heatmaps to identify and implement UX and UI enhancements.
- Business Collaboration & Supplier Enablement
- Collaborate closely with category management, marketplace operations, and marketing teams to ensure timely and impactful supplier onboarding.
- Streamline processes for launching supplier events, promotional campaigns, and exclusive product drops.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment to drive revenue growth and campaign success.
- Onsite Calendar & Competitive Intelligence
- Lead the planning and execution of the onsite merchandising calendar, aligning with local retail moments, category priorities, and seasonal opportunities.
- Integrate the latest market trends, customer insights, and competitive benchmarks into all onsite planning activities.
- Monitor competitor sites and global e-commerce trends to continuously evolve Coupang Taiwan’s onsite strategy.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in e-commerce merchandising, digital product marketing, or online retail operations.
- Proven experience managing and scaling creative and/or merchandising teams in a fast-paced digital environment.
- Strong understanding of customer behavior, onsite UX principles, and funnel optimization tactics.
- Experience working cross-functionally with commercial, design, analytics, and technology teams.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and proficient in English (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical mindset, comfort with data tools, and a bias toward test-and-learn methodologies
