About The Role:
As a Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain our product and services that enable millions of users to navigate to the next step in their healthcare journey. Your contributions will have a direct impact on our team’s and Included Health’s mission.You’ll have ample opportunity to independently lead up projects that have high impact for our members. You will also be expected to be a key participant and driver of technical debates regarding new technologies, service architecture, and high-leverage ways to reduce and maintain tech debt, as well as executing on those efforts. You’ll be great for this role if you love delivering delightful experiences for users, celebrate end-to-end ownership, and enjoy collaborating with your colleagues in engineering, product, design, and data science. You’ll also be a great fit if you enjoy full stack development, but tend to get more excited about the frontend.

The Guide team builds convenient, simple, and personalized tools and experiences that help members with a broad range of needs they encounter across their healthcare experience. From understanding insurance plans and coverage, to managing appointments and medications, to understanding claims and getting help with bills, to finding the right healthcare provider and benefit, we take what is painful and disconnected about healthcare, and turn it into a seamless, personalized, and empowering experience that makes it easier for our members to make good decisions and get the best possible care.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute across the full stack of web technology, frontend, API, backend (this role is front end focused).
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and data science on how to build high quality experiences that solve real member problems.
- Swiftly address any issues and invest in resolutions that improve the product’s reliability going forward.
- Collaborate with peer engineers on ways to reduce tech debt and improve how we work.
- Participate in healthy technical debate and decisions within the team and beyond.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of frontend or full stack development experience, from user interface to application logic to data storage.
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, or relevant experience.
- Experience designing and building user interfaces using single page application (SPA) frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
- Exceptional technical communication skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:
Zone A: 132,400 - 196,950 + equity + benefits
Zone B: 110,300 - 164,150 + equity + benefits
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates based on their respective Zone. Below is additional information on Included Health's commitment to maintaining transparent and equitable compensation practices across our distinct geographic zones.
Starting base salary for the successful candidate will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include, but not limited to, education; training; skill set; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; business needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and alignment with geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and competitive compensation based on their roles and locations.
