About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to join our accounting team. The candidate will assist in the day to day ownership of all things related to Revenue Accounting from overseeing the billing of customers and creating processes/templates for accurate revenue recognition. This is a highly collaborative role that will require strong problem-solving skills, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally with different teams across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations of Accounts Receivable, Deferred Revenue, Sales Tax and Revenue Accounts

• Ownership of of supporting schedules and workpapers Verify pricing and products by reviewing contracts to ensure sales orders are set up correctly in NetSuite

• Supervise and closely work with the Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist regarding the order to cash process

• Monitor/maintain/analyze Billing Report, which includes all monthly transactional data, in order to provide accurate invoices to customers

• Assist other departments (e.g., Sales, Account Management, FP&A) with inquiries regarding customer billing and revenue recognition

• Participate in process improvement projects to enhance the internal controls over revenue accounting processes and to ensure high accuracy

• Assist with annual financial audits, including preparation of documentation requests and inquiries

• Assist with identifying and implementing any required enhancements to billing tools (e.g., Zone & Co) and sales tax solution (Avalara)

• Additional ad-hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• 2-4+ years of accounting experience in a similar industry; SaaS preferred

• Experience with revenue accounting

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statement presentation

• Highly self-motivated, a flexible team player, and is able to operate independently

• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions, and ability to collaborate with the team through Google Sheets

• Strong analytic and financial statement review skills

• Familiarity with reviewing contracts and general understanding of key contract terms

• Experience with ERPs (NetSuite preferred)

• Public accounting experience preferred, but not required

Salary Disclosure:

Base Salary range: $85,000 - 100,000

This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job related factors. Socure's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, equity, comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
