\nUdemy Data Platform is a business-critical team building highly available, scalable data infrastructure, services, tools, and libraries that serve critical data discovery, ML/data pipeline development & deployment, data security & compliance, and self-healing data operational needs. This team gives 24/7 support for more than 500 internal data users, contributing to big projects like data contracts, access control of sensitive data, and migrating thousands of data pipelines from legacy EMR to modernized Databricks stack
\nJoin us and play a key role in developing and driving the adoption of our Data Mesh infrastructure-as-a-service.
\nWhat you'll be doing:
\n- \n
- Be a mentor and visionary leader for the data platform team in Turkey and collaborate with US counterparts. \n
- This position would report to the Director of Data Platform in US. \n
- Be a partner and work cross-functionally to build, enhance, and support Udemy’s resilient, scalable, customer-centric data mesh platform \n
- Be the delivery manager for thousands of legacy AWS EMR data pipelines in Airflow to Databricks \n
- Ensure data quality by working alongside with data platform US side in data contract project to improve data integrity and build systems that meet enterprise-grade data standards \n
What you’ll have:
\n- \n
- 10+ years of experience in Java, Scala, Python, or equivalent programming language \n
- 5+ years of experience in building, maintaining, and supporting cloud data platforms, preferably in AWS \n
- 4+ years of prior people management experience, including performance reviews, coaching, mentoring, and sprint planning \n
- Deep expertise in distributed data systems of data infrastructure \n
- Working experience in Databricks and Redshift. \n
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. \n
- B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent experience. \n
- Not essential but nice to have experience in MLOps, Terraform and Ansible \n
