About this role:

Udemy is seeking a Sr. Manager, Global Payroll to lead our global payroll function.  Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this key role will lead our global payroll function for employees in our offices around the globe - including the U.S., Ireland, Turkey, UK, Australia, India and Brazil.  

\n

What you'll be doing: 

\n
    \n
  • Own the end-to-end payroll process for a 1,400+ employee fast-growing tech company operating globally, including: oversight of global payroll and review of all payroll related changes including benefits and tax deductions (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), GTL, healthcare FSA, dependent care FSA).
  • \n
  • Understand the GAAP accounting impact of regular and specific payroll transactions. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax laws.
  • \n
  • Lead, train, mentor, and develop a growing payroll processing and compliance team.
  • \n
  • Partner cross functionally with People Systems and Equity Administration to ensure accurate payroll processing of Udemy’s benefits offerings and share-based compensation offerings, including RSUs, stock options, and ESPP.
  • \n
  • Implement payroll processes and procedures in new jurisdictions within the US and internationally where Udemy is expanding and establishing a legal presence.
  • \n
  • Manage the processing of multi-state payroll and regulatory filings utilizing Workday Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance and oversee and manage the processing of international payroll and regulatory filings utilizing Safeguard Global.
  • \n
  • Partner monthly with Accounting on payroll related reporting and reconciliations
  • \n
  • Create an excellent employee experience through the development of wiki resources, proactive communications and by managing payroll and equity-related inquiries via email/Slack channels

What you’ll have:

    8+ years of relevant experience working, including managerial experience

    Experience with Workday Payroll, Safeguard Global or other Global Managed Payroll services is preferred.
