About this role
The New Ventures team at Udemy Business is looking for a Sales Engineer with excellent communication and organization skills, knowledge and experience with software development practices and techniques, and a passion to help businesses become modern “learning organizations”.
You will need to understand general issues across a wide technical landscape from authentication protocols (e.g. SAML, OIDC, SCIM, OAuth), to assist customers debug the effects of a corporate web proxy. You will provide support to our Customer Success teams based in Tokyo and San Francisco with API-based integration for small and large enterprise customers. Knowledge of security protocols surrounding handling of personal data is a big plus.
Getting results for our customers and partners is vital, and this role requires someone that will fill the gaps that exist and communicate to technical and non-technical audiences. And, as the world so often changes around us, you will need to be comfortable in a fast paced and growing business.
Given the diversity of job responsibilities, we expect the person in this role to revel in learning quickly "on the job", and picking up what is needed to get the job done.
What you'll be doing
- Serve as technical and administrative support contact point for customers, and internal teams on all aspects of Udemy for Business and SaaS applications
- Respond to and solve inbound customer inquiries via email and Slack
- Create demos, articles and tutorials for a highly technical audience
- Seamlessly support customer pre-sales and post-sales requirements across a range of technical domains
- (SAML 2.0, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC, Security, API, Integration)
- A technical expert in Udemy API’s and system architecture supporting Integration Partners and customers with their bespoke deployments
- SSO, API and HRIS/LMS integrations, analytics, and reporting data streams.
- Implement and document solutions for integrating Udemy for Business with SaaS applications.
- Participate and work alongside the Bennesse team and internal teams: Product, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing
What you’ll have
While this work is based more on the skills a person has than what they have done, we think a typical profile could include the following:
- Experience within SaaS enterprise Customer Support / Sales Engineering
- Working with microservices
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Popular structured query languages (mysql, postgres, pl/sql).
- Solid understanding of authentication protocols (SAML 2.0, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC), Web APIs and experience debugging Web applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English and a track record of successfully overcoming technical and security objections in customer integrations
- An understanding of core security concepts; e.g., SSL/TLS, encryption ciphers, and GDPR data privacy
- Experience working with cross-functional teams of varying disciplines
