The Role
ZenBusiness is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager for the new customer acquisition team. In this role, you will work closely with management, engineers, marketing, product owners, and designers to build and deliver new product features and enhancements that change the lives of our small business customers. You will direct, manage, and participate in the day-to-day operations of a team of highly skilled software engineers.
This position will report to the Sr. Director of Engineering and this is a remote role.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of the Acquisition domain including ZenBusiness’ WordPress site consisting of thousands of pages
- Maintain and raise the engineering and operational excellence bar by mentoring, coaching, working side by side, and reviewing your team's work
- Partner with other functions (product, design, marketing, etc.) to develop the roadmap's product initiatives and ensure its execution in an agile environment
- Understand, influence, and give strong feedback to the product roadmap of the teams they lead
- Contribute to and lead the roadmap of the Acquisition domain that is comprised of product and technical initiatives, helping to decide not only how to build things but also what the right things to build are
- Responsible for leading teams through rapidly evolving complex demands, including multiple projects with dependencies on other internal organizations and multiple stakeholders
- Work in an agile, data-driven environment and have true ownership of the features your teams are accountable for, from gathering requirements to delivering results to maintenance
- Create a culture of high-quality, predictable, observable code that is delivered to production
- Create a culture of inclusivity and open two-way feedback
- Commitment to fostering a culture of coaching, leading by example, and empowerment amidst a lean-startup (agile) development environment, where we learn by doing with trust in our people and science to discover the optimal path to business success

Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience leading and growing high-performance technology teams with an emphasis on shipping web-based products, in partnership with product owners, designers, and marketing stakeholders
- Minimum of five years of relevant software development experience
- Experienced in WordPress development, including best practices, performance, and innovation
- Have a proven track record for high-quality product delivery that is data-driven through experimentation leveraging tools such as LaunchDarkly
- Demonstrate a desire for coaching up a strong succession of talent
- Experience managing other people leaders of all skill levels
- Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
- Curious and comfortable learning new things and diving in where needed
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to articulate your decisions, whiteboard new solutions, present ideas concisely, and defend your ideas

- macOS and G-Workspace knowledge is a plus!
